The Pan London General Practice Outcome Standards and Framework developed by NHS London in partnership with Londonwide LMCs, has collected GP outcomes data from PCTs across London.
The dual package also includes outcome standards that will replace any local standards. These standards have the sign-up of each NHS cluster chief executive officer.
Speaking at the Kings Fund annual conference in London on Wednesday, Julia Murphy, NHS London head of primary care quality improvement, said that the data used was already available within PCTs.
Ms Murphy said the collated data was made available to GPs in April and they had been given the chance to respond.
The data will now be made available to the public on 8 December via a website ? MyHealthLondon ? allowing patients to see how their own practice has performed.
Speaking at the conference, GP Dr David Griffiths, clinical advisor to NHS London, said peer review and data analysis were essential to improving standards in general practice.
?For GPs to accept the data they have to know that it comes down to them,? Dr Griffiths said.
?We want to have the information to let the profession see how they compare across London,? Ms Murphy added.
Londonwide LMCs said: ?The package at last gives a fresh approach to developing and implementing evidence-based parameters and includes: peer review, looking at trends over time (both within and across general practice), and is accompanied by a single performance framework developed in accordance with contract regulations and commanding the respect of the GP profession.?
