The Food Standards Agency issued an alert through its website
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has advised people not to consume certain jars of Loyd Grossman korma sauce over concerns about botulism.
The FSA said two people in Scotland had been hospitalised after contracting the disease, and both had eaten from a jar of the sauce.
The product which is subject of the FSA alert is a batch of Loyd Grossman korma sauce in 350g jars, with a best-before date of February 2013.
The batch code is: 1218R 07:12.
Botulism is rare in the UK. It is caused by toxins produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, which attacks the nervous system.
The FSA has not revealed where the people who have become ill live, but they are members of the same family.
It has advised that anyone with any jars from this batch of sauce should not eat it.
