The Scottish government has said that it will hold a consultation on public sector pension reforms, if the reforms affect Scottish workers.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish government said that the DoH's current consultation only applied to the NHS pension scheme in England and Wales.
'The government will of course consult fully on any proposed pension changes affecting public sector staff in Scotland,' the spokeswoman said.
The Scottish government is unhappy about the proposed reforms, the spokeswoman said, and Scotland's financial secretary has already expressed concerns to the UK government.
The BMA in Scotland said it was still unclear whether or not a consultation would need to go ahead.
A spokeswoman for BMA Scotland said that the BMA could not be sure whether the proposed reforms would affect NHS workers in Scotland without first receiving a response from the Cabinet Office.
